About

The California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is dedicated to supporting and advancing pharmacy practice to contribute to the health and wellness of the communities we serve. The Digital Health Corner and the DHX digital health conference were founded in 2019 by Parisa “Risa” Vatanka, PharmD, CTTS, to increase awareness among front line health care providers and everyone in the health care ecosystem interested in gaining insights and considering perspectives on new and emerging technologies, as well as those seeking to learn about approaches for effective digital health integration.

This website serves as a launchpad for all things Digital Health! Here, you may access:

  • Digital Health Corner: Articles written by health care and technology professionals, published in CPhA’s monthly newsletter.
  • DHX: CPhA’s annual Digital Health conference, featuring presentations and interactive sessions with world-renowned innovators, thought leaders, and health care providers.
  • Resources: Additional access to learn from national organizations and thought leaders in Digital Health.

The aim is to engage health care providers in taking a leadership role and sharing perspectives as domain experts to contribute to the design, integration, and sustainable application of digital health products and solutions to improve patient care and contribute to a healthier society.

Digital Health Defined

Digital health encompasses a wide range of products at the intersection of health and technology for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of health and diseases. Digital health products range from apps, wearables, devices, sensors, digital medicine, and digital therapeutics to AI/machine learning, robotics, and more. The virtualization of care and emerging hybrid models are focused on enhancing the provider-patient experience with the aim of improved access, quality, and outcomes.

California Pharmacists Association

Founded in 1869, the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) is the largest state association representing the pharmacy profession in all practice settings. These practice settings include community pharmacy (both independent owners and employees working in chain drug stores), hospitals and health-systems, and specialty practices such as compounding, managed care, and long-term care. It is the mission of the California Pharmacists Association to promote the health of the public through the practice of pharmacy.
